The dean presented awards to the best students of the Faculty of Science MU. Among the best doctoral students was Jakub Máčala from the Department of Biochemistry. Congratulations to all awardees!

Open Days 2024
Over 1000 students visited the Open Days of the Faculty of Science of MU this year, which took place on Saturday 27 and Tuesday 30 January at the University Campus in Bohunice and at the Kotlářská campus. The doors of our institute were of course open too!
The introductory lecture about the Faculty and study programmes at the Faculty of Science of MU was given by the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Tomáš Kašparovský. Vice-Dean Markéta Munzarová then spoke about the details of the admission procedure. The introduction of Biochemistry studies and the Department of Biochemistry was taken over by the pedagogical deputy Jitka Kašparovská, who was later complemented by the introduction of scientific topics at the Department of Biochemistry by the deputy director Martin Mandl.
After the lecture, the visitors had the opportunity to go on a tour of the National Centre for Biomolecular Research (NCBR), the Institute of Biochemistry and the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC). During the tour, the visitors saw facilities fpr cryo-electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, immunosensors and advanced techniques of cultivation in bioreactors.
