This year, we once again joined the Earth Day celebrations at the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, where visitors could learn many interesting facts about various substances found in plants, their possible uses, or potential dangers.
At booth 13, the Department of Biochemistry was represented by students from the Secondary Metabolites and Molecular Physiology research groups, who introduced visitors to the healing effects of plants as part of the so-called “Herbal Clinic”.
Earth Day was organized in cooperation with volunteers from the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University, including those from the Botanical Garden, the Institute of Physics and Plasma Technology, the Institute of Geological Sciences, the Institute of Experimental Biology, the Institute of Botany and Zoology, RECETOX, the Association of Natural Scientists of Masaryk University in Brno, the Friends of the Faculty of Education Association at MUNI, and the South Moravian Museum in Znojmo.
