Lenka Jurasová together with Zdenka Vilhanová and Marko Mećava, students of the Department of Biochemistry MUNI SCI, achieved great success in this year’s Start Your Business competition. Their innovative projects received recognition from the expert jury and were awarded funding for further development.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the winners of the annual Start Your Business competition were officially announced. Organized by Masaryk University’s Technology Transfer Office, the competition aims to support entrepreneurial students in transforming their ideas into real-world products or services.
Among the top seven projects of this year’s edition were two from students of the Faculty of Science. Lenka Jurasová together with Zdenka Vilhanová impressed the jury with her eco-friendly and compostable modeling clay project Chaffean, earning second place and a grant of CZK 60,000. Their work creatively combines sustainability and education, demonstrating that even biochemists can innovate beyond traditional boundaries.
Marko Mećava, also from the Faculty of Science, presented PowerGreens, an innovative protein powder concept. His project secured 4th place and received CZK 30,000 in support. Aimed at athletes and health-conscious individuals, PowerGreens highlights the potential of sustainable nutrition solutions.
We warmly congratulate all students on their achievements and thank them for representing the Department of Biochemistry and the faculty!
